Thank you to Linda, Marianne, Lana and Alex for an unforgettable evening of strolling down memory lane and learning the history of Druce Lake. It was wonderful to meet all the colorful characters and hear their stories.
Linda Mateja and Marianne Samrad presented the history of Druce Lake, including the Druce family, the lake community, early area businesses, and the lake's development. It includes sections on the families who lived in the area, such as the Wedge, Winkowski, Young, and Barnett families.
Thank you for joining us as we celebrated 50th year anniversary of The Mother Rudd Museum during Gurnee Days on August 9, 2025.
Kathryn Atwood's presentation of Women in World War II was informative and illuminating. Her research on women joining resistence and saving lives is at once heartbreaking and hopeful.
